Near drowning occurs at Gardner pool

A local toddler is in the hospital this afternoon after a near drowning incident at the Gardner Aquatic Center.

According to a press release, a lifeguard observed a three-year-old face down in the pool and unresponsive. The lifeguard rescued the toddler and began CPR. The toddler began breathing and vomiting.

Gardner Police responded to the pool at approximately 3:20 p.m. on July 9. The toddler was sent to a hospital for evaluation, and the incidence is still under investigation.
