NAOMA KINCAIDE

Naoma M. (Ellis) Kincaide, 85, of Gardner, KS passed away September 16, 2012 at Olathe Medical Center.  Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Monday, September 24, 2012 at the First Presbyterian Church, 138 E. Shawnee Gardner, KS. Burial at Gardner Cemetery.  Visitation will be 3 – 6:00 pm Sunday, September 23, 2012 at Bruce Funeral Home, Gardner, KS.  Memorial Contributions may be given to First Presbyterian Church of Gardner.  Condolences may be left at www.brucefuneralhome.com

Naoma was born January 9, 1927 in Gardner, KS to Phares and Mattie Ariel (DeNoon) Ellis.  She is a fourth generation life-long resident of Gardner, KS, graduating from Gardner High School in 1944.  Naoma married James R. Kincaide October 6, 1944 in Reno, NV.  She worked as a secretary for the Johnson County Probate Court and as a receptionist at the Gardner Multi Service Center.  Naoma was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Gardner, the Athena Club, the Gardner Historical Society and a Charter member of Docey Dandies Square Dance Club.  She was a very active 65 year member of Gardner Grange #68, serving as a past Gardner Master and a past Officer of the Kansas State Grange.  Naoma enjoyed working on her genealogy and loved her flowers and birds.  She will be dearly missed by all of her family and friends. 
Naoma is preceded in death by her parents.  She is survived by her husband, James, of the home; her daughters, Linda and Eldon Rothwell and Lois and Andy Barber all of Gardner, KS; twin grandsons, Max and Jim; step-grandson, Alex and wife Cagney and one step-great-grandson on the way.
