Teven McKelvey scored 21 points leading the Wheatridge Middle School Mustang seventh grade varsity boys basketball team to a 41-26 win over Spring Hill Middle School last week.
Behind McKelvey, WMS took control in the second half and avenged an earlier season loss to Spring Hill.
Other scorers were Preston Rohr with six points and Caden LeCluyse with four points.
It was a different story in seventh grade JV action as WMS dropped a 14-point decision to Spring Hill.
WMS closed the gap to seven points in the second half, but could not climb closer and dropped the Frontier League game.
Keith Casey and Justin Newman chipped in five points. Nick Kitchen and Nate Bradfor had four points apiece.
In eighth grade varsity action, the WMS team trailed from start-to-finish in a 49-16 loss to SHMS.
Despite the loss, WMS got seven points from Jordan Feller, and Kaden McKenna contributed five points.
Other top efforts came from Connor Wade, Seth Shipps, Ty Bradford and Ethan Walker.
