Mayor’s Christmas program accepting applications

Information letters and applications for the Mayor’s Christmas for Children Program can be picked up at the Gardner Multi-Service Center, in the lobby of city hall at the utilities or parks and rec counters.  Completed applications should be brought to city hall on screening days Nov. 12 or Nov. 19.
The program is not income based this year and is open to any child age 0 through 18 living in the USD 231 school district.
The program, which supplies children with gifts for Christmas, was a great success in 2010. If organizations or individuals would like to adopt children as part of the program, they can call (913)856-0938 or email drovettam@yahoo.com.
