Marie Leona Mistele

 

Marie Leona Mistele, 88, of Raymore, Mo., passed away Jan. 11, 2013 at FoxwoodSpringsLivingCenter in Raymore. 

Marie was born April 13, 1924 in Le Loup, Kan. to Edwain Henry and Joyce Mabel (Keagy) Fisher.  She was a 1942 graduate of Wellsville, Kansas High School. 

Marie married Victor R. Mistele, Sr. in April, 1949 in Eudora, Kan.  The family farmed in Gardner during the 50’s and 60’s and moved to Leeton, Mo. in 1965, where they operated a dairy farm until 1978.  They later moved to Holden, Mo. and wintered in Texas for many years. 

Marie was a member of the Great Gals in Texas and enjoyed many trips throughout the world with friends.  She was a member of St. Paul’s UnitedMethodistChurch in Raymore.  She enjoyed spending time with family, especially her two granddaughters.  She will be dearly missed by family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Victor in 1982, her parents, two brothers, Orvil and Merlin Fisher, and sister Ruth Davis. 

Marie is survived by her children Victor R. Mistele, Jr. and wife Sheri, of Oak Grove, Mo., Wilfred W. Mistele and wife Joy, of Peculiar, Mo., and Sheri Peek and husband Otis, of Holt, Mo.; and two granddaughters, Cyri Taylor Parsons and Emily Mistele Sewell (Matthew).

Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m., Jan. 15, 2013 at Bruce Funeral Home, Gardner, KS, (913)856-7111.  Burial will follow at De SotoCemetery, De Soto, Kan.  Visitation will begin at 1 p.m., before the service at the funeral home.  Memorial Contributions may be given to St. Paul’s UnitedMethodistChurch in Raymore or Crossroads Hospice.  Condolences may be left at www.brucefuneralhome.com.
