Layng’s 15 points not enough to win

Matt Layng fired in a team high 15 points, but it wasn’t enough as the Pioneer Ridge Middle School eighth grade varsity boys basketball team dropped a 42-27 decision to Ottawa, Jan. 14.
Ottawa jumped to a 13-8 first-quarter lead and went up 25-14 by halftime. Pioneer  Ridge had 13 points in the second half but couldn’t close the gap.
Besides Layng, Jace Sprague and Tydus Webb had four points. Leon Gaeta and Garrett Borth had two points.
