Late goal lifts Blazer soccer squad to win

Carson Harding’s goal late in the second half lifted the Blazer varsity soccer squad to a 1-0 home win against Lansing, Oct. 15.
Goalie Cole Boers and a multitude of Blazers kept Lansing at bay to post the teams fourth shutout of the season.
With the win, GEHS improved to 9-4-0 entering a brutal three game stretch against Blue Valley Northwest, Blue Valley West and St. Thomas Aquinas.
“The victory required a team wide determination,” said Coach Andy Weber. Our guys kept fighting and Carson finally beat Lansing’s keeper with a low shot into the corner.”
It was the same winning story for the JV in a 4-0 shutout win.
T.J. Gaither and Tanner Richardson scored first half goals. Sam Mayeske added two direct kick goals to secure the win.
With the win, the JV raised its record to 6-5-2.
