Lady Mustangs win “Fill the Fieldhouse” contest

Playing in front of a packed GEHS gymnasium, the Wheatridge Lady Mustangs eighth grade varsity girls basketball team turned back cross town rival Pioneer Ridge 35-8 in the second Annual  “Fill the Fieldhouse” contest, Nov 6.
Wheatridge jumped to a 10-3 first quarter lead and went up 20-6 by halftime.  A 15-2 second half run sealed the game for WMS.
“It was a real fun atmosphere for both teams,’ said Pioneer Ridge Coach Jeff Davidson. The kids really enjoyed playing  in front of over 1,000 fans.”
Despite the loss, Pioneer,2-4,  got 4 points from Malibu McIntire and 3 points from Sydney Deitz.  Abby Cox had 1 point and 5 rebounds. Kailey Burger collected 3 steals.
