Lady Jaguars take 2nd

Braving cold and windy conditions, the Pioneer Ridge Middle School eighth grade Lady Jags track team brought back a second place finish from the Ottawa Invitational April 16.
PRMS swept the pole vault competition with Sydney Deitz clearing 6’-6 inches for the gold medal. Tiffany Harlow took second and Heather Culbertson was third. Culbertson also won the discus with a toss of 86’-5 inches . Jessie Heniss took third with an effort of 71’-2 inches and Taylor Snell finished 4th with a toss of 66’-7 inches.
“The team fought through some tough conditions and competed hard,” said Coach Jeff Davidson. “I was real proud of the effort.”
Other gold medals went to Megan Wetherington with a 1600 time of 7:07.5 and Heniss with a 200 meter time of 30.11. Silver medals went to Lauren Haag with a 400 meter time of 1:12.7 and Kaitlyn Dayton with a high jump of 4’-5 inches. The Jags also took second in the 400 and medlay relays.
All  told, Pioneer placed in 13 of 16 events and finished second in the team standings to Spring Hill.
