Using a balanced scoring attack, the Pioneer Ridge eighth grade girls varsity basketball squad brought back a 33-22 win at Mill Creek Dec. 3.
Trailing 16-13 at halftime, the Jags rallied behind the scoring of Taylor Carpenter and Lauren Highfill. The Jags went on a 14-1, third quarter run and coasted to an 11 points win.
“We were so much more aggressive in the second half,” said coach Jeff Davidson. “We capitalized on our scoring opportunities.”
Carpenter led the way with 12 points, seven rebounds and eight steals.
Highfill had nine points, and six rebounds. Hannah Hawkins added five points. Kennedi Jackson, Jayme Morris and Korah Calvin had two points apiece. Mykah Andregg had one point.
