Using balanced scoring, the Pioneer Ridge Middle School seventh grade girls track team brought back a second place finish from the Eudora Invitational last week.
Baldwin won the triangular by a score of 73-59 over Pioneer. Eudora took thirrd with 21 points.
“The team has worked hard in practice, and it’s paying off in the meets,” said coach Molly Lonergan.
Gold medals went to Juli Cordero in the 100-meter hurdles; Kaylyn Gordon with a 3-feet, 10-inch high jump; Kelby Wilson in the 1600 meter run; Laney Strahan in the 400 meter run; and the 800-meter relay team of Taylor Fergola, Haylie Harris, Payton Pugh and Brookelyn Roman.
Jade Williams earned a silver medal in the shot put. Other second place winners include Sophia Pogue in the 1600 meter run; Rebecaa Miller with a 5-feet, 6-inch vaunt in the pole vault; Fergola in the 200-meter run; and the 400-meter relay team of Fergola, Pugh, Harris and Roman.
Williams finished in third in the discus with a toss of 63-feet. Other bronze medalists included Fiona Turner in the pole vault; Ceci Court with a 21.4 second dash in 100-meter hurdles; Pugh in the 400-meter run; and three relay teams.
