Lady Blazers finish third at state tourney

For the second straight year the Lady Blazer volleyball team has finished third in the  state volleyball tournament. The two seasons  mark the best finish in the history of Blazer volleyball.
In first round action in the Topeka Expocentre, the Blazers turned back Blue Valley by scores of 25-17, 25-17.  In the second match,  GEHS beat Junction City 28-26, 25-15. Final round of pool play saw the Blazers drop a hard fought 25-17, 17-25,  25-19 match to Washburn Rural.
In semi final action, the Blazers lost to Blue Valley by scores of 25-20, 25-21.  The team rebounded with a third place win against Olathe East, 25-16, 25-18.
Washburn Rural won its seventh state title in the last nine years with a two set win against Blue Valley.
