Kiegerl to chair new committee

Rep. Mike Kiegerl, who represents Gardner, Edgerton and part of Spring Hill in the Kansas House, has been selected to chair a new standing committee on children’s issues next year.

Kiegerl said he’s honored.

“We have much work to do and I welcome the challenge,” he said in a press release.

He will make the disabilities waiting list, insurance, and education of children with austism and special needs, as well as a review and revision of SRS foster care policies priorities.

“Our new Republican administration and leadership will do all it can to allow the Kansas electorate to answer the key question in 2012: Are you better off now than you were two years ago decisively in the affirmative,” Kiegerl said.
