District Court Judge Brenda Cameron sentenced Dustin Maynard to the custody of the Kansas Department of Corrections for a life sentence on his conviction of first degree murder of Jordan MacDonald in 2013.
Johnson County District Attorney Steve Howe announced Oct. 27 that Dustin Maynard entered a plea of guilty to the charge of premeditated first degree murder for his role in the death of 21 year old Jordan MacDonald in October, 2013.
The case was investigated by the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office and the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office Criminalistics Laboratory. The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Jason Covington and Mike McElhinney.
Maynard, 31, was arrested and charged following an incident which occurred on Oct. 30, 2013 on Ottawa Street in De Soto . He was charged with first degree murder and was held on $1 million bond.
