Johnson County Libraries offer summer activities

Spring Hill Book Group
July 14, 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Join the Spring Hill Library for its monthly discussion.  The group meets on the second Thursday of each month at the Spring Hill Library. Everyone is welcome. Discussion on July 14 is about “Reading Lolita in Tehran” by Azar Nafisi.  For more information call (913) 826-4600.  Registration is not required.
Juggling, Comedy, Energy! at Edgerton Library
July14, 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
The Edgerton Neighborhood Library presents Brian Wendling, an Internatinal Jugglers’ Association champion, who combines award-winning juggling, comedy and audience participation into high-energy entertainment.  All ages are welcome.  To register call (913) 826-4600.
Gardner Afternoon Book Group
July 27, 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Join the Gardner Library on the last Wednesday of the month for its book discussion.  Everyone is welcome.  The July 27 discussion is about “The Help” by Kathryn Stockett.  The afternoon book group meets in the meeting room.  Registration is not required.

Drop in Antioch, De Soto, Edgerton, Gardner, Spring Hill, Shawnee and Central Resource libraries any time for hands-on, child-directed activities.  You never know what to expect-art projects, scavenger hunts, puzzles to test your brain power and more.  Activities will be changed every two weeks, so plan to come back again and again.  Activities are designed for ages 6 to 11 and may be enjoyed by the whole family.  Registration is not required.
