Jaguars run past Baldwin, 40-8

Placing its offense in high gear, the Pioneer Ridge eighth grade varsity football team ran past Baldwin 40-8 in Frontier League action at Jaguar stadium on Sept. 18.
With the win, Pioneer improves to 4-0 and travels to rival Paola for a key league matchup Sept. 25.
“It was a nice win for us,” said coach Kevin Collins.  “I am proud of our 4-0 start but we still have a lot of improvement to make. We need to continue to work hard.”
Pioneer went up 16-0 thanks to a 65 yard TD run by Jonas Pippitt and a three-yard keeper by quarterback Kolbee Finnell.
Third quarter scoring came on a three-yard Conner Boyt run and a 65-yard fumble return by Nic Salpas.  Petey Graham closed the scoring on a 10-yard run.
Providing running room up front were Zach Bass, Salpas, Darius Landis, Nathan Pearson, Jared Highfill, Steven Fort and Boyt.
