Jags track team set two new records

It was a record-setting day for coach Ben Ryan and his Pioneer Ridge Middl School eighth grade boys team in a home duel with Wheatridge Middle School last week.
Jace Sprague led the way, leaping a new school record long jump of 17-feet, 6-and-a-quarter-inches to win gold. Sprague also teamed with Rees Taylor, Wyatt Hollingshead and Leon Gaeta to win the 400-meter relay in a new school record of 49.3 seconds.
Sprague also won the 100-meter dash. He joined Gaeta, Hollingshead and Taylor to win the 800-meter relay.
Hollingshead won the 100-meter hurdles, and Carson Hughes won the 1600-meter run. Taylor took first in the 200- and 400-meter runs. Hughes won the 800-meter run,  and Reid Frase won the pole vault.
