Demdaco will re-locate to Edgerton after all, Logistics Park Kansas City officials announced June 26.
The Lenexa-based gift importer renewed its lease for warehouse space in North Kansas City at the end of 2010 after an extensive search for warehouse space that included Edgerton.
At the time, Demdaco sought a 312,000 square-foot warehouse in the metro area. Today, officials announced Demdaco will lease a 326,650 square-foot distribution center that will be custom built for the importer.
“We are thrilled to be one of the first tenants to relocate to Logistics Park Kansas City adjacent to the BNSF intermodal facility,” said DEMDACO Chief Operating Officer Steve Fowler. “This move will improve our operating efficiencies by being in a new, state-of-the-art facility and by being very close to the intermodal site through which most of our product is delivered.”
The announcement marks the third warehouse facility announced at LPKC. Demdaco’s warehouse will join the DeLong Grain facility, a 500,000 square-foot warehouse, and a speculative warehouse being constructed in the intermodal’s adjacent logistics park.
Demdaco’s imports will utilize empty containers from DeLong Company’s grain imports.
“We did considerable analysis and research to find the right long-term location for our distribution facility and our internal analysis showed that locating in a modern state-of-the-art facility at LPKC will help reduce our total operating costs for our distribution versus the alternatives that we studied,” Fowler said.
The intermodal is set to open this fall.

And Demdaco will get to increase their profits by reducing their costs for transporting their goods from the intermodal to a warehouse close by and by getting, I am sure, a lower leasing rate since the owner of the warehouse is getting a 75% tax break for 10 years (losing big time on those school taxes) and on top of that the citizens get to pay for all of the astronomical infrastructure costs from now until infinity. And Demdaco will be paying rock bottom labor costs since they will be operating in a Right-To-Work state. Wonder if Demdaco will be paying for disability insurance policies for their employees.

You have to really love what your Red Republican extremist politicians and bureaucrats are doing to you if you are an average working citizen………….Corporations and their paid politicians and bureaucrats and money greed and power RULE……….and citizens can thank themselves for all of their financial rape by enabling and supporting THE SYSTEM and by their apathy and their poor choices in the voting booth.

Every citizen in this area needs to be looking into their future ball and seeing what they will be living with and how much it is going to cost them.
