Heads Up Brain Injury Support to host 5K

Heads Up Brain Injury Support will host its annual 5K run on Sept. 7. The event, now in its seventh year, will be sanctioned by KC Running Company. Other activities include a 3K, a kids walk and a heroes walk.

The fun kicks off at 8 a.m. at the Paola High School track, 401 Angela Street. Gates will open at 7 a.m.

Participants can register online at headsuponline.org.

Heads Up Brain Injury Support provides services and support to individuals who have sustained brain injuries and their families and caregivers. Based in Paola, the group holds monthly meetings. The community support organization is committed to providing information and encouragement to those in the community and surrounding areas recovering from traumatic brain injuries. Members of the group include stroke survivors, victims of domestic violence and accident survivors.
