Gardner Edgerton High School star runningback Traevohn Wrench was recently named as one of five finalist for the most prestigious Kansas City high school football awards in the area.
Finalists for the 31st annual Thomas A. Simone award were recently announced on a special Time Warner Cable sports channel broadcast from Arrowhead Stadium.
Wrench ran for 2,091 yards and 30 touchdowns this season. It was his third straight season with more than 2,000 yards.
He finished his career with more than 6,900 rushing yards and 93 touchdowns, shattering previous school records.
He committed to the University of Kansas last fall and is considered one of the highlights of KU’s 2014 recruiting class.
