Gardner Edgerton High School Principal Tim Brady submitted his resignation letter last week. He will retire from the high school at the end of this school year.
Brady has spent his entire career in education with USD 231. He served as an administrator with the district, including roles as vice principal and principal at the middle school level and at the high school, for 27 years. He taught history at Nike Junior High and Nike Middle School before that. In total, he has worked for the Gardner Edgerton School District for 32 years.
Brady said he won’t be a lame duck leader as his career at GEHS winds down.
“I intend to work my tail off,” he said.
Brady submitted his letter about his intention to retire  to Superintendent Bill Gilhaus last week, but the USD 231 Board of Education has not yet approved it.

  1. Another good one gone. Shame on the school board. One by one the educators that love our district are being pushed out.

  2. Walter H. says:

Mr. Brady is probably one of the most respected leaders in our district. It is both sad and unfortunate that we are losing him. I guarantee he will not be the last person to resign or retire. As long as we have our current leadership we will continue to bleed good administrators and teachers. The teachers that have the ability to move and go to another district will go. We had over 25 of our teachers resign over the summer and this exodus will continue again this year.

We are continuously losing valuable experience that is not easily replaced. Mr. Brady may be “retiring” but rest assured, he will go somewhere else his experience will benefit kids of some other community. I wonder if there is more to him retiring than we know?
