Bubba Starling of Gardner-Edgerton High School and Jordan Miller or Spring Hill were recently named to the K.C. Star All-Metro baseball squad.
Starling earned first team honors as an outfielder. The GEHS senior-to-be hit .508 with eight home runs, 24 RBI, 33 runs scored, and 21 stolen bases for the Blazers, who finished 14-7.
As a pitcher, he went 3-2 with an 1.89 ERA, with 53 strikeouts and only seven walks in 37 innings.
Starling is projected as a possible first round pick in next summer’s baseball draft. He has committed to Nebraska for football and baseball.
Named to the second team as an outfielder was Jordan Miller. He also serves as one of the Broncos’ top pitchers. His efforts helped Spring Hill to a 19-7 record, and runner-up honors in the 4A state.
