USD 231
As part of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) Flexibility Waiver, the Kansas State Department of Education has identified the top 10 percent of Title I schools as Reward Schools with two schools from USD 231. Gardner and Edgerton elementary schools were recognized by the Kansas State Department of Education. Reward schools are selected based on two criteria: high academic performance or high academic progress.
In 2011, Gardner Elementary school students met the state standard or better on the math test, 100 percent of Gardner Elementary school students met the state standard or better on the reading test, and 100 percent of students at Edgerton Elementary and Gardner Elementary met the state standard or better on the science test. Outstanding results from outstanding students and staff!
