Gardner track club grabs 4 golds at Summer Classic

The Gardner Track Club brought back four gold medals from the Olathe Express Summer Classic held June 18 in Baldwin.
As usual, the pole vaulters led the way with three gold medal efforts. Kade Loring leaped 7’6″ to win the seventh grade boys division and Karli Smith took first in the seventh grade girls with an identical effort. Kyle Stubler’s 11’6″ vault took top honors in the eighth grade boys division.
Equally impressive was Danie Plank whose 140′ javelin throw won gold in the girls 10th-grade division. Jill Starling took second in the ninth-grade javelin with a throw of 109’6″. Kyra Rousselo took second in the girls 10th-grade shot put with a heave of 29’11″.
Abbie Buie leaped 7’6″ for second place in the girls seventh-grade pole vault. Third place pole vault efforts came from Natalie Mitchell (10’6″, 10th-grade girls) and Drake Sparks (12′, 12th-grade boys).
