Gardner man accused of attempted 1st degree murder

A Gardner man is being held in the Johnson County jail on charges of attempting to kill his ex- girlfriend last week. The incident took place about 9 p.m. om July 2 outside a Lenexa apartment the woman was visiting.
According to the Lenexa Police Department, Justin Lester Moore, 39, is being held in lieu of a $150,000 bond.
Police say that Moore confronted his ex-girlfriend and fired a shotgun toward her on July 9.
The shot missed the woman, and she was able to escape and enter the apartment.
Moore also allegedly pointed the gun at a friend of the woman’s, but did not fire.
Police said Moore had been threatening the woman via text messages for some time.
