Gardner Ice softball team competes in Metro tournament

It’s been quite a season for Coach Steve Adamson and his Gardner Ice softball team.
The Gardner Ice, comprised of players between the ages of 16 and 18, ended its season last weekend finishing second in bracket play in the Kansas City Metro tournament at Blue Valley.
During the season, the team competed in three, area tournaments and took home two second place finishes.
The team also finished league play at the Olathe Girls Softball Association with a 6-8 record.
“Our team hit well as we ended the season and the pitchers did a fine job,” said Adamson. “Overall, it was a really good season and the girls had a great time.”
Players included Chelsie Gilner, Bethany Schultz, Sara Coble, Olivia Schultz, Jaclyn Adamson, Sarah Gilner, Madyson Merrill, Hannah Flores, Jessica Gilner, Kendra Rogers, Alik Gilman, Taylor Finnell, Val Jardon, and Sarah Hansen.
