Scoring 81 points, the Blazer boys varsity track team brought back a fifth place finish from the Olathe Invitational last Friday.
Olathe East won the meet by a 155-115 ½ margin over runner up Olathe Northwest. Olathe South took third with 96 points.
“We have tremendous upper classmen leadership and incredibly talented in the freshman and sophomore classes,” said coach Brian McGee. “I am real proud of this group.”
McGee especially liked the gold medal efforts of Andrew Sprague who tossed the discus 145’5” and Davis Tropansky who cleared 13’6” in the pole vault.

Silver medals went to junior sprinter Matt Summerlin who posted a personal record 22.56 in the 200, which is currently third in 6A.
Tom Fabing cleared a personal record pole vault of 11’6” and Sprague heaved the shot put a personal record 46’7.”
The lone bronze medal went to junior Marshall Carpenter who tossed the shot put a personal record 45’11.”
The Blazers return to ODAC Friday for a Mid Season Classic meet. First events start at 3:30 p.m.
