Gardner-Edgerton Blazer soccer squad earns academic team award

The Blazer boys soccer squad was recently honored  by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America with a team academic award.
The Trailblazers earned the award with a combined GPA of 3.57 and are one of 145 boy’s teams nationwide and just three in Kansas to win the award.
“In addition to the team’s success on the field, the coaching staff is ever prouder of the accomplishments in the classroom,” said coach Andy Weber.
The varsity team was led by seniors, Luke Fischer, Jake McIntire and Tim Mitchell, who all earned post season honors and have GPA’s over 4.0.
The varsity team averages a 3.57 GPA.
Only three schools in Kansas were awarded with this honor.
