Gardner candidate forum set for Feb. 21

More than a dozen candidates for Gardner City Council, mayoral and USD 231 school board races will participate in a forum next week. Members of the public are invited to attend to learn more about the candidates.

The event will start at 6:15 p.m. on Feb. 21 in the multi-purpose room at New Century Fieldhouse. Following prepared remarks and a question-and-answer session, attendees can participate in a straw poll to vote for their favorite candidates.

Voters will be asked to select school board members and council members in an April 2 election.

The Gardner-Edgerton Republican Party is hosting the forum and will take a goodwill offering to offset costs of the event. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to a local women’s shelter.
