The Ames Tribune (Iowa) reported today that Melissa Mundt, Gardner assistant city administrator, is a finalist for a similar job in Ames.
Gardner City Council members currently are seeking to replace former city administrator Stewart Fairburn, who left the community last February for a job in Oklahoma.
His replacement process was stopped last year after two of three finalists for the job withdrew their names. Mundt served as interim-city-administrator during the search process. However, council members hired Mike Press, former Johnson County manager, to serve in the interim when the search was temporarily ceased.
The city is currently accepting applications for city administrator.

and why did those two candidates withdraw?? Oh yea Larry started his own agenda and investigation into them. And they figured this place is to screwed up. So Ms Mundt, good luck with your application process. I understand why you did not apply here. Best of luck
Apparently, four candidates for the Ames, Iowa Assistant City Manager position have been selected for finalist interviews. I approve and support a transparent selection process that allows some citizen engagement with the final candidates, such as the City of Ames is doing. They have scheduled an hour on separate days for each individual candidate to meet with the public, make a presentation and answer questions from citizens.

I wish Melissa well with her goal of returning to Ames, where her family resides.
