Frances Eloise English, 86, of Spring Hill, Kan., passed away Jan. 14, 2011, at her home.
Frances was born Jan. 30, 1924 in Roanoke, Va., to Lawrence Everett and Reeva Florence (Tate) Ashworth. She graduated from Jefferson High School in Roanoke. Frances married Albert W. Bill English in Roanoke. She established a card ministry, sending scriptures to people in her hometown of Roanoke. They lived in Virginia, New Jersey, Utah and settled in Kansas in 1976. She was a homemaker. Frances enjoyed working with crafts. She supported the Emanuel Baptist Church in Overland Park, Kan.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Bill in 2008. Frances is survived by her daughter Tina Diane English of Pleasanton, Kan. and her adopted grandchildren Nicole Roush and Kelsey Roush Smith and several nieces and nephews
Graveside funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2011 at Sherwood Memorial Park in Salem, Va. The visitation will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, before the graveside, at Oakey’s Roanoke Chapel, (540)982-2100. Memorial Contributions may be made to American Cancer Society.
