Frances Elizabeth Taylor, 91, of Wellsville

Frances Elizabeth Taylor, 91, of Wellsville, formerly of Gardner, passed away Sept. 8, 2010 at Wellsville Retirement Center. Funeral services will be held 2:30 pm Sat., Sept. 11, 2010 at Bruce Funeral Home, 106 S Center, Gardner, KS (913) 856-7111. Burial follows at Gardner Cemetery. Visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 pm Fri., Sept. 10, 2010 at the funeral home.

Frances was born July 10, 1919 in Gardner, KS to Virgil Earl and Leona May Clayton Johnston. She married Thomas Reynolds Taylor on September 26, 1941 in Olathe. Frances was a homemaker. She was a long time Johnson County resident, moving to Wellsville in 1997. Frances was a member of the First Christian Church in Olathe and Morning Grange. She loved cooking, sewing and doing hand work, especially quilts and embroidery. Frances enjoyed playing cards with Fit and Fun in Wellsville.
Frances was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Tom died in 1993; son Bernard Lee Taylor; and brother Wilbur Johnston. She is survived by her son Harold Dean and Carol Taylor, Wellsville and daughter-in-law Burdine Taylor, Baldwin City; six grandchildren: Karen and husband Curt, Karla, Kurt, Janine, Eugene and Dean; four great grandchildren: Derek, Anthony, Kyle and Lauren; and two great-great grandchildren: Kaydence, and Colton.
