Former Blazer standout Andre Jolly is making his mark as a member of the Baker University football team. His efforts have helped the Wildcats to a 7-2 record and third place thus far in the Heart of America Athletic conference.
Jolly, a 6 foot one inch sophomore defensive end, has 13 sacks on the season. That ranks as number 2 in the NAIA for total sacks in a season and is number one in the nation for sacks per game. He is closing in on the Baker season record of 14- set by Leroy Brown.
Last week Jolly helped keep Baker’s playoff hopes alive with a 38-28 win at rival Benedictine. The team continues league play against Graceland this week.
Jolly also earned HAAC Player of the week honors Oct. 20 for his outstanding effort against Culver Stockton. In that game, he recorded 18 total tackles-2 solo- helping the Cats to a 42-13 win.
