June 8, 2013 – Distinguished Citizens and their guests gathered at the First Baptist Church for “Chat-Fest on the Trails”. Distinguished Citizens are folks who are at least 70 years of age and have lived in the Gardner Township or USD 231 area for at least 45 of those years. All who qualify are invited to the Chat Fest, which has been enjoyed annually since it began with the Sesquicentennial Celebration in 2007, and continues now in conjunction with “Festival On The Trails” celebration every year.
Light refreshments were provided by the Gamma Xi Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi. The Gardner Historical Museum provided displays, pictures and videos. Shirley Brown-VanArsdale and Mayor Chris Morrow extended words of welcome and appreciation for Gardner’s Distinguished Citizens.
