Along Old U.S. 56 highway, about 3 miles northeast of Gardner, the I-35 Logistics Park is continuing to expand The third of six state-of-the-art warehouses is presently under construction next to a soybean field near the intersection of 155th Street and Old 56.  The new warehouse will have approximately 900,000 square feet of space. When fully developed, the complex will have facilities totaling 4.7 million square feet. The complex was planned because of its close proximity to the 159th Street interchange on I-35. It is just a few miles from the BNSF Railway’s Logistics Park Kansas City intermodal center on the west side of Gardner. Two large signs were added at the main entrances to the I-35 Logistics Park earlier this year. As each warehouse is occupied, more jobs are coming to this area. Employment opportunities keep increasing in southwest Johnson County.
