Fair parade to honor Lefmanns

The Johnson County Fair Committee will honor J.P. and Gloria Lefmann as Grand Marshals of the parade on Aug. 11.
J.P and Gloria are long time volunteers in Johnson County, having served as 4-H leaders and being active in Farm Bureau.
Both are active in the Nazarene Church, with J.P. serving on the church board and Gloria serving as secretary and pianist.
J.P. was recently honored by the Johnson County Board of Commissioners for his 50 years of service on the McCamish Township Zoning Board.
He received the Sod Busters Award from the Kansas Chapter of the American Planners Association for his service to the county.
J.P and Gloria are both fourth generation Johnson Countians and have served as foster parents for more than 200 children since 1969.
J.P. is a retired farmer, and Gloria is a retired teacher.
Both, along with their granddaughter, also support Relay For Life as cancer survivors.
