Esther Mae Kellar

Esther Mae Kellar, 85, passed away July 14, 2014 at Good Samaritan Society in Olathe.

Esther was born April 23, 1929 in Grand Rapids, Mich. to Johanna Jorgenson and Martin Boot. After graduating high school she attended Olivet Nazarene College in Kankakee, Ill.

Esther was a minister’s wife, married to Dwight Kellar for 36 years.

Esther loved to sing and served as a Minister of Music for Durand Church of the Nazarene, Durand, Mich. She enjoyed reading and creating floral arrangements. Esther grew up in the Nazarene Church and was currently a member of the Gardner Church of the Nazarene. She will be dearly missed by family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter Cynthia Booker.

Esther is survived by her daughters Pamela and husband Tom Calligan, of Gardner, Kan.; Martha and husband Pete Roggenbaum, of Apollo Beach, Fla.; son David Kellar and wife Susan, of Lowell, Mich.; son-in-law Ernest Booker, of Fenton, Mich.; 11 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and sisters Caroline, Virginia and JoAnn.

Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m., July 18, 2014 at Bruce Funeral Home, Gardner, KS (913)856-7111. Burial will follow at Gardner Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., July 17, 2014 also at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in Esther’s name to the Memorial Garden for the Gardner Church of the Nazarene.
