Enjoy past holiday seasons with the Jo Co Museum

The Johnson County Museum is currently offering two ways to step back in time and enjoy the holiday season.
A Very Fifties Christmas, hosted by The 1950s All-Electric House at the Johnson County Museum showcases the holiday celebrations and space age decorations of a 1950s holiday.
Throughout the house there are trendy examples of homemade and commercial Christmas decorating idea, many of which will be familiar to the baby-boom generation . The decorations come directly from the pages of 1950s women’s magazines like Family Circle and Good Housekeeping.
Go even farther back in time to the days of the one- room school house with Christmas at Lanesfield School at the Lanesfield Historic Site in Edgerton. Visitors can tour the decorated school and make an ornament for their Christmas tree. Groups of 10 or more should call in advance for reservations.
