Elmer C. “Butch” Honeycutt, III, 64, of Gardner, KS, passed away January 31, 2011 at Olathe Medical Center.
Butch was born June 23, 1946, in Trenton, MO to Hazel (Tschalker) and Elmer C. Honeycuatt, II. He served in the U S Army during the Vietnam era. Butch married Linda Louise Dahms on June 21, 1991 in Ottawa, KS. He lived in Chapman, NE and Argonia, KS, where he worked for West Plains Energy in Harper, KS. They moved to Gardner in 1997. He was an electric lineman for the City of Gardner for 14 years, retiring in 2008. He was a Catholic. Butch was a member of IBEW and the American Legion. He enjoyed fishing, golf and watching football, especially the Denver Broncos.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Lynette Kelly. Butch is survived by his wife Linda of the home; son Kelly James Honeycutt and his fiancee’ Amy Rogers of Buckeye, AZ; siblings Kay Turner of Sun City, AZ, Jerry Honeycutt of McCook, NE, Michael Honeycutt of Grand Island, NE, Bill Honeycutt of Rapid City, SD, and Jackie Hoeft of Omaha, NE.
Memorial Services will be 11:30 am Saturday, February 12, 2011 at Bruce Funeral Home, Gardner, 913-856-7111. Visitation will begin at 10:00 before the service.
