Elkinton sets Pioneer Ridge shot put record at Annual Eagle Relays

Pioneer Ridge Middle School eighth-grader Macey Elkinton’s school-record shot put of 35’2 ½” highlighted the Lady Jags effort at the Annual Eagle Relays on April 26.
The combined seventh and eighth grade meet featured seven teams and some top area talent.
Overall, PRMS placed fifth in the field. Wheatridge took the title by an 82-76 margin versus Paola. Eudora followed with 43; PRMS, 42; host Wellsville, 35; and Osawatomie, 32.
The pole vault team of Karli Smith and Haley Drawbaugh placed second with a combined score of 13’6″.
The long jump team of Cassidy Greer, Heather Culbertson and Kaitlyn Dayton took third with a combined team length of 37′ ½”.
The sprint medley of Mady Sylva, Natalie Mullen, Claire Morgan, and Maddy Mueller took third with a time of 2:11.9 and the 3200 relay of Jewell Carter, Karen Thompson, Sydney Dietz, and Cassidy Greer took third with a time of 11.51.9.
Fourth place finishers went to the discus team of Culbertson, Elkinton, and Jessica Heniss with a distance of 206’11″.
The other fourth went to the hurdles unit of Maddy Mueller, Lauren Haag, and Mady Sylva in a time of 59.5.
