Edward Joseph Jasperse

 Edward Joseph Jasperse, 49, of Gardner, Kan. passed away Oct. 30, 2012 at Overland Park Regional Hospital.

Edward was born Jan. 18, 1963 in Kansas City, Mo. to James Sidney and Mary Sue (Byrnes) Jasperse. He grew up in Prairie Village, Kan., graduated from Bishop Miege High School and had an Air Frame and Power Plant degree from Maple Woods Community College.

Edward married Melissa Kay Mealman on Oct. 6, 1984 in Olathe, Kan.; they then moved to Edgerton and in 1993 moved to Gardner. He currently worked for his best friend at Freedom Lawn & Landscape.

Edward was an aviation enthusiast and an aspiring pyrotechnician. He was an incredible handyman who was always helping friends, neighbors and anyone in need of his expertise.

He is survived by his wife, Lisa, of the home; sons, Christopher Edward Jasperse, of Pittsburg, Kan. and Sean Richard Jasperse, of Gardner; parents, James and Mary Sue Jasperse, of Prairie Village; siblings, Andrew Jasperse, of Gardner and Jeanne Jasperse, of Prairie Village.

Celebration of Life will be held at 1 p.m., Nov. 6, 2012 at Bruce Funeral Home, Gardner, KS (913)856-7111. Visitation will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., Nov. 5, 2012 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Commemorative Air Force at New Century Air Center or Disabled American Veterans. Condolences may be left at www.brucefuneralhome.com.
