Edna M. Timmons

Edna M. Timmons, 94, of Spring Hill, Kan. passed away March 24, 2014 at St. Luke’s South Hospital.
Edna was born Feb. 18, 1920 in Healing Springs, Ark. to William W. and Nannie K. (Wilson) Sullivan. She grew up in Spring Hill where she was a long-time resident.

Edna married Arthur O. “Jack” Timmons on June 20, 1941 in Spring Hill. From 1942 to 1945, Edna was a rural mail carrier while her husband served in the U.S. Army.

She was a member of the Spring Hill American Legion Auxiliary, Cole-Smith Post #350, the Ladies Auxiliary of the National and Kansas Rural Letter Carriers Association and Spring Hill United Methodist Church. Edna will be dearly missed by family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jack in 2003; son, Michael (Mick); sisters, Ruby Masden, Alta Marie Graves, and Elsie Fern Bowlen.

Edna is survived by her daughter, Connie and Bill Carrison, of Overland Park, Kan.; daughter-in-law, Sandy Timmons; grandchildren, Lori and Tim Raines, John and Bobbi Timmons, Joe and Annie Timmons and Sarah Foley; great-grandchildren, Michael, Jacob, Zachary and Dawson Raines, Chase and Danni Timmons, Ava Timmons and Connor Foley.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., March 29, 2014 at Bruce Funeral Home, 712 S Webster, Spring Hill, KS (913)592-2244. Burial follows at Spring Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held at 10 a.m., prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to The United Methodist Church of Spring Hill or the Spring Hill American Legion Auxiliary, Cole-Smith Post #350.
