Dorothy “Dottie” Louise Cade, 81, of Spring Hill, Kan. passed away Aug. 2, 2014 in Spring Hill.
Dottie was born Dec. 11, 1932 in Excelsior, Mo. to Hazel Lorene Hayes and Albert Ditman Moser. She was a graduate of Herington Kansas High School. She moved to Johnson County in 1952.
Dottie married Walter E Cade, Jr., on July 30, 1954 in Ottawa, Kan.
She did clerical work at Sunflower Ordinance Plant in De Soto, Kan.
Dottie and Walter moved to Spring Hill in the early 60’s. For 21 years they co-owned Cade Hardware in Spring Hill and she retired in 1996.
Dottie was active in the PTA before serving on the USD 230 School Board. She was a member of the Spring Hill American Legion Auxiliary. Dottie loved to garden and was very skilled in finding four leaf clovers. She was a big sports fan, loyally supporting the Chiefs, the Royals and KU sports. She will be dearly missed by family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Roger Moser.
Dottie is survived by her husband, Walter, of the home; children David Cade and Ping, of Windsor, Calif., Janet Bartel and Steve and Kevin Cade and Dena, all of Olathe, Kan.; siblings Ross Moser, of Pahrump, Nev., Darrell Moser, of Paola, Kan., Melvin Moser, of Spring Hill, David Moser, Rick Moser and Wayne Moser, all of Higbee, Mo., Mike Moser, of Lewisville, Ark., Mildred Burns, of Sebastian, Fla., Kay Barrett, of Albuquerque, N.M., Dee Culbertson, of Mokena, Ill., and Jayne Winn, of Chillicothe, Ill.; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:30 a.m., Aug. 8, 2014 at Bruce Funeral Home, 712 S Webster, Spring Hill, KS (913)592-2244. Burial will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery.
