Daughters of Isabella award scholarships

Jan Dodds, scholarship chair of the Daughters of Isabella, St. Faustina Circle 1439 of Divine Mercy Perish, presented scholarships to local students recently.
The Catholic service organization awarded a scholarship to Luke Meyer. He is the son of Joe and Carrie Meyer.  He plans to attend Emporia State University next fall. Luke is a member of Divine Mercy Parish and serves Mass. He graduated from Wellsville High School with a 4.0 grade point average and was named a Kansas Honor Scholar. While in high school, he played football, basketball and baseball for four years.
Daughters of Isabella also awarded a scholarship to Chelsea Spiller. Chelsea is the daughter of Kenny and Shirley Spiller and a member of Divine Mercy Parish. She plans to attend Johnson County Community College in the fall. She graduated from St. James Academy, where she enjoyed assisting with musicals and plays. She was active in community projects at school and within Divine Mercy Parish.

    Knights of Columbus have also supported our local youth, which is equally incredible.
