City hires new public works director

The city of Gardner welcomed a new public works director on July 9.
Brian D. Faust previously served as the assistant director of public works and engineering in Raymore, Mo.
Faust has also served as a board member for the Marais Des Cygnes Public Utility Authority and has held positions as the engineer and city planner and director of public works for the city of Paola.
He holds a master’s degree in structural engineering from Iowa State University and a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Missouri.
“Brian is an accomplished engineer with over 20 years of experience,” Gardner City Administrator Cheryl Harrison-Lee said. “Brian will provide excellent leadership and expertise as the city’s new public works director.”
