GARDNER – CenturyLink recently awarded Taylor Carr, a 2011 graduate of Shawnee Mission West High School and daughter of CenturyLink trainer, Kathy Carr and husband, Rob Carr, a CenturyLink Employees’ Children Scholarship worth $1,000.
CenturyLink awarded a total of 82 scholarships nationwide.  The program confers scholarships to dependents of employees who have at least a 3.0 grade point average and are attending an accredited junior college, college or university.  The 2011 scholarships are $1,000 per year, up to four years.  The students can retain the scholarship each year by maintaining a 3.0 grade point average.
“We are happy to award these educational scholarships to the deserving sons and daughters of CenturyLink associates,” said Bill Fallin, Vice president and general manager for CenturyLink of South Missouri and Kansas. “Each winner was selected for exemplary academic accomplishments, along with outstanding involvement in community programs and activities.”
Taylor will attend Kansas State University this fall.
