Carpenter grabs gold at Frontier League

Taylor Carpenter raced to gold medals in the 100 and 200 meter dashes leading the Pioneer Ridge Middle Schoo seventh grade girls varsity track team to a third place finish in the Frontier League meet in Ottawa May 6.
Carpenter claimed first at 100 meters in a time of 13.7 and later took gold at 200 meters in 29.03. She also was part of the Jags gold medal 400 and medley relay teams.
Bronze medals went to Lauren Highfill  in the  100 meter hurdles in 18.9 and Natalie Hill in the pole vault.
“I am real proud of the team’s effort and improvement,” said Coach Ben Ryan. “This was a great group to work with and just a lot of fun to coach. Everyone worked hard to get better in practice each day.”
