After a stellar career at Spring Hill High School, senior Reid Burger will continue to play baseball at Avila University this fall.
He made it official Jan. 14 signing a national letter of intent in the high school library in front of family and friends.
“I liked the smaller school and being close to home,” said Burger. “It’s a good academic setting and seemed like a good fit.”
Burger, who plays third base for the Broncos, will likely get opportunities in the Avila infield and outfield.
For now, Burger will focus on helping Spring Hill gain an upper-division place in the Frontier League this spring. He will continue a winter weight lifting and conditioning program as well.
Reid is undecided on a college major.
He is the son of Kate and Rick Burger of Spring Hill.
