Buckingham’s 42 paces leads GEHS golf effort

Sophomore Jacque Buckingham fired a 42 – good enough for second place – leading the Lady Blazer golf effort at the Heritage Park Invitational, Sept. 15.
“I was real happy with our play,” said coach Amy Van Rheen. “This is a tough course and a good experience for the kids. Competition came from mostly EKL and Sunflower schools.”
Besides Buckingham, senior Kelsey Schaefer shot a 52 and Jasmine Bailey, 59, in the 12-school invite.
Action continues this week with an EKL tourney in Lawrence and at Paola Country Club.
