Broncos resume basketball, wrestling competition

Following a short holiday break, the Spring Hill Broncos will begin a full slate of basketball and wrestling competition this week.
In boys basketball, coach Rick O’Neil’s team is 4-1 and will return to action against Blue Valley Southwest, January 7th.
Before the break, the Broncos picked up a big Frontier win against Paola Drew Cygan led the way with 19 points as Spring Hill posted a 60-56 home win, December 20.
“It was a good win for us,” said coach O’Neil. We spent the break working on rebounding and offensive and defensive drills.”
It was a different story for the Lady Broncos as they fell to 2-4 with a 67-46 loss to Paola. Despite the loss, Shelby Baker had a team high 21 points.
“We worked on team defense and better movement on the offensive end,” said coach Clay Frigon, whose team play Anderson County, January 10. I was pleased with our progress.”
In the Wrestling arena, coach Tucker Woofter has marked improvement in his young squad.
“I’ve been pleased with our progress,” he said. We have a lot of young kids stepping up and earning points. That is encouraging.” The team lost to Blue Valley Southwest, January 4.
